Namrata Singh Gujral Bridges Two Cultures

When the red carpet unrolls tonight at this week's Connecticut Film Festival in Danbury, be prepared for Namrata Singh Gujral, an American actress of Sikh faith, who has mastered the fine art of crossing over between Hollywood and Bollywood and back again.Gujral, 32, whose acting credits range from television's "Passions" and "The Agency" to the big screen in movies like "House of Sand and Fog" and the Bollywood hit "Kaante," will be at the festival for the screening of her "Americanizing Shelley," a contemporary "Pygmalion"-like comedy set in Los Angeles.Born in India, this former model was still adjusting to some jet lag after her trip from the West Coast before "spilling the beans" with Java.
